Community Service

Iridescent is a company that uses science, technology and engineering to develop persistent curiosity and to show that knowledge is empowering. During the internship I received training to learn different types of engineering. Later teaching it to elementary students while having fun using math and science. During this internship I was shown companies such as Northrop Grumman. I had fun with other high schoolers in the LA area and influence each other in a postive way.  

This program is connected with my church and I have been in this program since I was little. Once I was old enough I was able to volunteer meanwhile getting community service. In school time, I helped the elementary students academically and in their literacy. During summer, I taught them importance of healthy eating habits and exercise. This program is K-5 and it is pleasure being with enthusiastic kids and watching them grow up.

This program advocated the importance of literacy in second graders and to help them achieve more reading. It was fun to be with kids and was left amazed in how some students  could already read fluently.

In this program I planted vegetables and fruits part of our environmental club. We taught students the environmental issues and what you can do to make the environment and yourself healthier. The TeachingGarden project worked with American HeartAssociation the best part is working with other and made a commercial. I learned to be responsible in this project because I had to to take of the plants daily.
